Family Off-Roader

With the 2021 SEMA Show underway in Las Vegas, we expected Jeep to show up, as usual, with a host of custom Wranglers. Of course, the automaker didn't disappoint. One of the most interesting vehicles on display this week is the Wrangler Overlook Concept, a three-row version of the iconic off-roader that's big enough for the entire family.

Making Room

The Wrangler Overlook Concept was originally a four-door Sahara model before Jeep added a full 12 inches to the cabin, which made room for the third row of seating. The automaker then raised the roof by five inches, giving those folks ample headroom as well.

Innovative Piece

The custom roof itself is an interesting and innovative piece of work. Not only does it increase headroom for second- and third-row passengers, but the roof also has some safari-style windows up top to compensate for the space lost by the Wrangler's roll structure.

Looking the Part

On the outside, the Wrangler Overlook Concept has been fitted with a two-inch lift, Fox shocks, and 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 tires to give it the proper stance. It also looks the part thanks to a JPP steel front bumper with an integrated winch, as well as unique rear bumper extensions.

Finishing Touches

Jeep finished up the exterior by adding a set of JPP 5-inch off-road LED lights, a relocated third brake light to make room for the larger spare, an oversized spare tire carrier, and black JPP tubular side steps.

Premium Looks

To ensure the interior looks as good as the average three-row family hauler, Jeep added black Katzkin leather seating with Raven Black suede inserts and Sahara Bronze accents to compliment the exterior color, and the whole thing certainly looks premium.

Make It a Reality

It's unclear if Jeep would actually consider producing a three-row Wrangler, but to us, the idea makes a ton of sense. Sure, you can buy a Grand Cherokee or Wagoneer with a third row, but none offers the same open-air feel and infinite aftermarket the Wrangler enjoys.
