From Land Rover country, a tricked out Jeep

Jeep and Land Rover’s Defender are both legacy off-road vehicle brands. For decades, adventurous 4x4 enthusiasts have been using these to explore. Now, there is a custom Wrangler, developed by the British company, Sterling Automotive. From the island which gave the world Land Rover’s Defender, comes the Sterling Automotive Wrangler, which is a very interesting take on the Jeep off-road theme.

Sterling have the skills to make it happen

Sterling Automotive is located in Blackburn, Lancashire, England. They are a specialist aftermarket outfitter and have comprehensive 3D printing facilities. This allows Sterling Automotive to execute exciting trim and styling upgrades, on some of the most popular vehicle models - without having to source through complex layers of external suppliers.

British take on the three-door Jeep

Sterling has applied all their trade and 3D printing skills to the latest Jeep Wrangler. The idea was to create some custom trim and styling components, that would enhance the overall design without reducing quality or function. For many aftermarket upgrades, the initial ownership excitement is often undone in practice, as components don’t fit or harmonize as they should. With Sterling Automotive’s Jeep Wrangler kit, this is not an issue.

Much better seats

Some of the most impressive Sterling upgrades concern the Wrangler cabin architecture and overall comfort. You’ll notice the seats look nothing like what a factory Wrangler would be delivered with. That is because Sterling retrims with their own perforated and quilt-pattern leather trim. Not only do these seats look terrific, but they distribute seating loads more evenly, meaning that long distance touring drives and severe off-road terrain, takes less of a toll on passengers.

Luxury car door panel finishes

The premium leather trim upgrade extends to the Sterling Automotive’s armrests. To create a feeling of luxury and enhance the texturing of the Wrangler’s cabin environment, Sterling’s technicians also spread a generous volume of Alcantara across the door panels. This gives it the feeling of a richer tactile finish and adds a sense of warmth to the interior.

Selecting gear - in style

Touch is more than just feel, and Sterling Automotive paid attention to the ensuring that as many hand-to-trim interfaces are upgraded. The sense of oneness with any vehicle is dramatically enhanced when some of the controls are covered in more premium upholstery, such as leather. This is especially true of the shifter and parking brake. As such, Sterling Automotive made the inspired decision to ensure its Wrangler package does feature a gorgeously enhanced leather transmission shifter and parking brake girdle.

Some simple, but impressive exterior design changes

The exterior design of Sterling Automotive's Jeep Wrangler upgrades, features  265/70S Davanti Terratoura tires, rolling on 17-inch steel wheels. Those tires allow for an adequate air-volume, to provide cushioning ride quality in technical off-road terrain. The fenders are also extended, giving this Wrangler a more purposeful look, and it features a custom Sterling grille, with three dominant horizontal slats, as opposed to the factory Wrangler's vertical grille styling.
