Jeep Renegade Modified into Tribute to Comanche Pickup

This Comanche Renegade might be the Wrangler pickup but it sure as hell looks good to us.

From top to bottom

Beating Jeep to the punch with their proposed 2019 Wrangler pickup, comes this Renegade Comanche conversion. Alan Ensor of Boar Customs took the Renegade through changes that included leaving the rear doors behind, stretched the wheelbase and adding on a bed in the rear.

The realest one we'll have for now

Boar Customs got the idea to build his Comanche that from the Jeep's Easter Safari concept because of how much he liked that vehicle. I think Alan did a pretty damn good job of making his own street legal version of that awesome Jeep in-house custom creation.

A nice demure interior

This modern Comanche started life as a 2015 Renegade Latitude 4x4 with a 2.4-liter engine under the hood. At one point the Renegade suffered an accident that damaged the rear quarter panel and that's when the work began. The majority of people would simply return the rough and tumble little vehicle to as close to the way it was before, but Alan went a whole different route.

Half the vehicle gone

Alan cut the body off from the B-pillar back and started crafting the bed portion of the vehicle. Using steel tubing and panels, Allen and a friend built the rear bed and made use of the stock taillights and fuel filler from the original rear of the Renegade.

Not too shabby at all

To complete the cab portion of the Comanche, Alan took the rear window from a Ford Ranger that fit perfectly and sealed off the compartment nicely. To finish up at the back, there is a custom made rear bumper to make the new pickup compliant with the law. Alan has the Comanche sitting on custom wheels that are wrapped in Toyo Open County AT tires.

Get them while you can

Once the fabrication of the vehicle was completed, a nice coating of tan kevlar and black trim was laid on to really make it match the concept. A subtle suspension lift of an inch and a half was done to raise for better looks and off-road style. Alan says the Comanche drives just the way it did before the conversion and it weighs the same as it did before too.  The all-wheel hasn't been affected at all and the powertrain hasn't been modified from the way it was stock. This Comanche Renegade just completed a listing on eBay where it sold for $32,000. However, if you like what you see, then you'll be happy to hear that Boar Customs will be building more in a limited number, and they are willing to ship overseas if needed.
