For the Snowy Days

In a unique automotive spectacle, a special Jeep Cherokee Sport recently crossed the block on Bring a Trailer. Unlike standard off-roaders, this 2001 model, hailing from Minnesota, has undergone remarkable modifications, turning it into an unparalleled snow adventure machine.

Dominator Track System and Chassis Modifications

The standout feature of this Jeep Cherokee Sport is the installation of a Dominator Track System from American Track Truck. These tracks, bolted onto the original hubs, boast steel frames, drive drums, bogie wheels, and rubber tracks. The suspension has been adjusted to accommodate these enhancements while retaining the original front and rear brakes. The seller provides insight, stating, "Given how high the Jeep sits, you'd probably be hard-pressed to find a jack that could lift it high enough to remove the tracks, meaning a lift is probably needed to fit the original wheels."

Exterior Enhancements

Several exterior modifications further distinguish this Jeep Cherokee Sport. Aftermarket front and rear bumpers, a Warn winch connection, recovery shackles, LED lights, a rear receiver hitch, and a roof rack contribute to its rugged appearance. These enhancements not only add visual appeal but also enhance the vehicle's utility for adventurous pursuits.

Interior and Powertrain Unchanged

While the exterior undergoes a transformation, the interior remains unchanged. The original PowerTech 4.0-liter inline-six engine, producing 190 hp and 225 lb-ft of torque, continues to power this off-roader. The four-speed automatic transmission efficiently distributes power to all four wheels. Despite clocking a substantial 184,000 miles, both the interior and powertrain maintain their original specifications.

Detailed Specifications

The 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport, registered in Minnesota since new, boasts a clean Carfax report and a clean Minnesota title under the owner's business name. Acquired in 2023, the truck is meticulously detailed, featuring a black finish with body-color grille and wheel arch flares.

Cabin Features and Imperfections

Inside, the cabin offers comfort with reclining front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in Agate cloth. Despite wear and a tear in the driver's seat upholstery, the cabin includes amenities like air conditioning, cruise control, and an AM/FM/CD/cassette stereo. The steering wheel, mounted on an adjustable column, frames a range of gauges.

Reserve Not Met

As the clock ran to zero on the BaT listing, the top bid had come in at $13,500. Unfortunately for the seller, that amount didn't meet the set reserve. This led to speculation from some bidders that the seller's expectations for this auction may have been somewhat unrealistic, given the high mileage and the mostly "average" nature of the vehicle. Or perhaps there was a lack of motivation to sell, considering the lack of involvement in the comments section. We'll see if there are any further attempts to sell this beast down the line.
