Hot Rod Wrangler Render Is Cool but Impractical

It might not make any sense, but this slammed Wrangler does look cool, at least.

Defeating the Purpose

Throughout history, a small handful of folks have transformed Jeep Wranglers into hot rods, slamming them to the ground and stuffing them with larger powerplants. This obviously doesn't make a ton of sense, as you're essentially destroying what the Wrangler is good at - off-roading. Regardless of how silly hot-rodded Wranglers might be in theory, however, we recently found ourselves admiring these renderings from artist Mares Narcis George.

Going Racing

The idea behind these interesting renderings was to create a Wrangler that could conquer the race track, not the local trails. Thus, George gave it a slammed stance with huge wheels and racing rubber, the former of which are fitted with turbofans to make them more aerodynamic. As a result, the off-roader also looks like a proper racer.

Glued To the Ground

Those huge wheels and tires are surrounded by heavily modified bodywork that was designed with a purpose other than looks - to aid downforce and keep this Jeep glued to the ground, especially when flying around any number of time attack or autocross events.

Wild Look

George even went to the trouble of moving the front axle forward to give the Wrangler a bit of a stretched wheelbase, not to mention a wild new look. The open-fender concept sort of reminds us of an old-fashioned race car and actually looks pretty cool, truthfully.

Realistic Idea?

George has created a host of renderings of his hot rod Wrangler, with different colors and a few with and without a top. These are sure to draw mixed reactions, but we can appreciate the vision behind this idea, even if we aren't really sure why anyone would actually build such a thing.

Attention Grabber

Then again, it wouldn't be the first time someone took a Jeep and turned it into a ground-hugging, pavement-pounding street machine. And as a side bonus, it would surely attract a ton of attention at any track day it attends, too.
