Hennessey Maximus Jeep Gladiator
The Hellcat supercharged V8 lives in its most aggressive form under the hood of the Hennessey Maximum.
Hennessey'ed
If we had a penny for every time a Jeep lover thought "man I wish there was a V8 under that hood," referring to the new Gladiator. While we still hold out hope for Stellantis executives to green light a HEMI-powered Gladiator, the good folks at Hennessey Performance Engineering have wasted no time doing to the Jeep pickup what can be best described as 'Hennessey-ing' it.
Ordinary to Extraordinary
By replacing the Jeep's ordinary V6 mill with a well-respected Hellcat supercharged 6.2-liter V8, the aftermarket tuner added the monstrous Jeep to their lineup of absolute killers. Hennessey engineers' touch of gearhead brilliance turns the Gladiator into a 1,000-horsepower fire-breathing goliath.

Maximum
But unlike many of the previous Hennessey products, the 'Maximus' has predominantly been marketed as an off-road beast rather than an asphalt machine. Most of what we've seen of the powerful pickup has been shots of it doing Jeep things. Until now. Hennessey recently published a video featuring some of the engineers who work on Maximus, doing some 'final validation tests' before handing it off to a customer.

Tearing Up Tarmac
In the video, we see the Maximus, one of the 24 units that will be built by Hennessey, tearing it up at the Pennzoil Proving Grounds at Lonestar Motorsports Park. The sub-four-minute video is a treat for the eyes and ears. The team of Hennessey engineers speaks about the power and suspension upgrades and the work that goes into implementing them onto the trucks.

Violence on Wheels
As is the case with any limited-production vehicle that comes from the Sealy, Texas-based tuner, the price tag on this super truck is just as jaw-dropping as its performance. At a cost of around $225,000, getting hands-on a Maximum is a luxury afforded by few. For now, while we hope for a V8 Gladiator to follow a V8 Wrangler, let's enjoy listening to the violent sound of this Hennessey monster in this Youtube video.
