American Expedition Vehicles

I think we can all agree that no particular brand has as extensive aftermarket support as Jeep does. But within the seemingly saturated market, American Expedition Vehicles has been a standout for more than two decades. They have a proven track record, not only with Jeep parts but with other off-roading vehicles as well. In fact, the company had a hand in the engineering development of the Chevy Colorado ZR2 in recent years.

DualSport RT Suspension

They've extended their line of Jeep off-roading modifications to the Gladiator EcoDiesel. Their robust  2.5-inch AEV DualSport RT Suspension setup is now available for the EcoDiesel. The kit has a price tag of $1,699, which is a great deal, considering everything that comes with it, and the engineering that has gone into it to improve the Jeep pickup's capability.

More Off-Road Capability

Realistically, the OEM suspension is plenty capable of off-roading situations for most folks' use cases. However, it is true that the system's dampeners are designed for a softer ride, focused more towards on-road comfort than off-road agility. The 2.5-inch DualSport RT Suspension fills the gaps for those owners who are more interested in off-the-grid adventures than straightforward road trips.

Specially Tuned

The AEV kit comes with their progressive rate coil springs and tuned Bilstein 5100 series shocks. It also includes control arm geometry correction brackets, relocated rear sway bar end links, a rear driveshaft carrier bearing spacer, bump stock extensions, rear track bar tower, and passenger side coil spring shim. Everything in the system is engineered specifically for the dynamics of the slightly heavier EcoDiesel Gladiator.

All Around Improvement

AEV claims the kit can be installed at home in 5 hours and with a moderate level of difficulty. With the Rubicon model, the DualSport kit allows for 37-inch tires. For the Sport and Overland variations, 35 inches is the maximum. An AEV ProCal SNAP tool will be included as well, in case speedometer recalibration is required. The suspension upgrade allows for more wheels travel, both up and down. Additionally, it provides for improved ride quality, according to AEV. On top of all of that, it makes for a killer visual upgrade for the Gladiator.
