Intro

The new 2024 Jeep Gladiator is here. This is not a major redesign so it may not be immediately obvious that this is the new model. The overall looks and chassis are basically the same, as is the 3.6L Pentastar V6 (285 hp & 260 lb.-ft. of torque) powertrain.

But there are some significant changes that are coming with the 2024 Gladiator. These changes make it not just more capable off-road but offer some key upgrades that will make the midsize Jeep truck more appealing than ever. We were at the Detroit Auto Show for the reveal and we captured everything new for 2024.

#1 – 12.3-Inch Touchscreen

Remember the days when you were lucky to get more than two gauges in your Jeep? Those days a long gone and for 2024 the Jeep Gladiator will come standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. It is the centerpiece of the more comfortable and advanced interior. This is the largest screen ever in the Gladiator. And with it you can control the latest Uconnect 5 system. The touchscreen has a special backlight technology that will allow you to easily read it even if you have the doors and roof off.

#2 – Mojave X and Rubicon X

The Mojave X and Rubicon X are new additions to the Gladiator line. Some highlights of these models include steel bumpers and Nappa leather seats. An integrated off-road camera is also included. Both models also feature a full-time transfer case (Selec-Trac for the Mojave X and Rock-Trac for Rubicon X). The Mojave gets a Desert Rated badge thanks to a set of FOX shocks and an Off-Road+ button that will allow you to storm across any desert you wish. The Rubicon X focuses a bit more on rock crawling duty.

#3 - Gladiator Willys Upgrades

The Willys trim has been around for a while but for 2024 it gets some upgrades. Like the Mojave X, the Willys gets the Off-Road+ mode. Willys also comes with a Tru-Lok rear locker and a trailer tow package with auxiliary switches that you can program. For many the Willys trim has represented the sweet spot in the lineup and for 2024 it just got a bit sweeter.

#4 – Updated Grille

The first thing you may notice on the 2024 Gladiator is the seven-slot grille. The slots now have a black textured finish with gray metallic bezels. The grille surround is body color. On the Willys trim the slots and bezels are gloss black. This is more than just a style update. The new vertical slots are said to improve the cooling capability on the new Jeep.

#5 - Stealth Antenna

That steel whip antenna is finally gone! You remember that steel mast that sprung out of your Jeep and seemed to get snagged on every low hanging tree limb in the state? Gone! For 2024 the antenna is integrated into the front windshield. This provides not just a cleaner look but a more streamline profile for when you head into the brush.

#6 – New Wheel Designs

There are seven all-new wheel designs coming with the 2024 Jeep Gladiator. These new wheels will be wrapped in 32 or 33-inch tires depending on trim and options. Hopefully, you like black wheels, because black seems to be the color theme on most of them. The base wheel is a black steel wheel on the Sport. The Sport S gets Mineral Gray wheels which look black. The Willys gets black painted wheels. The Mojave gets machined wheels with black-painted pockets. Rubicon models get machined painted black wheels. Optional wheels on the Sport S, Mojave and Rubicon also have similar black-painted color scheme.

#7 – New Functionality (Jeep Adventure Guides, Customizable home screen, and More)

The 2024 Gladiator comes packed with new functionality. There is the new Jeep Adventure Guides that provides trail guides for up to 3,000 off-road trails. You can set up to five different user profiles in your new Gladiator plus a valet mode. You can now connect to Bluetooth-enabled phones at the same time. SiriusXM 360L is another new for 2024 feature. And you can now get over the air updates for your navigation system at the press of a button.

#8 – Standard Premium Soft-Top

A new premium soft-top is standard on the 2024 Jeep Gladiator. Even the base Sport model gets the new high-grade soft-top. The premium top is a nice step up over the previous basic top. The basic top was like vinyl and the premium is more like cloth. Nice to look at, nicer to the touch, plus it insulates better from noise and should age better and last longer. It is a nice step up for 2024.
