Jeep Summer

The Jeep Wrangler is arguably the most summer-able vehicle that has ever been built. And the fact that each generation of the popular offroader has maintained the nameplate's adventurous character has only grown the legend. And now that we've made it back around the sun once more to experience the season of outdoors fun, here are some relatively easy things you could do to your Jeep to take advantage of all that summer has to offer.

Take The Doors Off

First things first, it's time to start taking body panels off of that Jeep and let the warm air into the cabin. Taking off the roof is a no-brainer. But if you want the fully immersive Jeep summer experience, the doors need to sit the next few months out, too! The doors on a Wrangler (and Gladiator) are designed to be removed with ease. Just roll down the windows, disconnect the wiring, and remove the nuts. If they feel too heavy for you, ask a friend to give you a hand.

Get a Bikini Top

Bikini tops provide the perfect overhead protection for the summer. It protects the interior and its occupants from the elements. We all love a bit of a tan, but we don't need the sun coming down at us for hours on a road trip. A bikini top is the solution. It blocks the burning rays of the sun just enough, without taking away from the open-air experience. Best of all, these bikini tops are easy to remove or adjust, inexpensive, and very durable.

Get Camping Gear

What's the fun of having a Jeep if you never go camping with it? These things are built to go anywhere and do anything. Having made it to your favorite off-the-grid camping spot in your Jeep, you can begin to establish your headquarters, using the vehicle as to the base. Pop-up tents, awnings, tables, etc. can enhance your next camping experience with your Jeep immensely!

Put On Summer Tires

Now that winter is behind us, we can safely equip our Jeeps with summer tires. These warm weather-specific tires will help to improve handling and traction both on the tarmac and on less friendly terrain. Can you get by with keeping the winter tires on? Sure. But if it's a Jeep summer experience you're after, you might as well go all-in with the upgrades.

Lift it Up

And lastly, it's time to give that Jeep a lift, if you haven't already! Not only would a good lift kit give your vehicle a more commanding presence and powerful stance, but it will also allow for more ground clearance and wheel travel, making it more capable in your next offroad adventure.
