Default Help - None of the steering wheel controls work except for the horn

So,

2018 JL Rubicon manual transmission

ive tried to google high and low and have had no luck. Anyone else experience this and more importantly find a solution? No I haven’t tried the dealer yet ... lol. The horn works fine but none of the other buttons do a thing. So I can’t cycle through my central display, adjust audio from the steering wheel or even use cruise control.

Would very much appreciate any suggestions

cameron.

On such a new jeep, you should return to the dealer for it to be covered under warranty. I'd suspect this is clockspring related. If you are not familiar with what a clock spring is or does, it's really not a fancy item. Essentially, it is a long ribbon wire wrapped around and around inside a box. It is what all the electronics in that steering wheel are connected to, and what allows you to turn the steering wheel around and around, lock to lock, without wiring for all those components getting twisted up. Can't say for sure that is the issue, but it is probably the most likely cause. I wouldn't mess with it on your new jeep as it could void some warranty, especially since you have to remove an airbag to access. Just best to let the dealer address whatever issue you're having.

Do a quick visual inspection of steering column. I had steering wheel work loose on a new pickup once.
