Write-Up on dropping/removing factory Rubi transfer case???
I searched around but didn't see any specifics on what it takes to remove the factory transfer case. Can anyone that's done it before point the way?
I am replacing the crappy factory shifter cable with an aftermarket one from Advanced Adapters (zip ties weren't doing it for me). While removing the factory bolt that holds the shift lever on the transfer case, the head literally disintegrated once it was 1/4 of the way out. The metal just crumbled.
I can't get up in there with a drill (tap it out, etc) and I need to remove that crappy bolt so I can replace it. I could try heating it but don't know if the factory threadlocker is the 'permanent' stuff that doesn't liquefy under heat.
Did I mention how *$&#^@#%$*$($($()$ frustrating this is?
