I'm not sure why there are a lot of people that says the JK engine is not too responsive. I've driven both TJ and JK, and while TJ has more low end grunt, the JK engine is no snail either. Mine is pretty responsive with 6 speed. I think the engine needs to be broken in a little bit before it comes alive . All i have is Air intake and exhaust with 33" tires.

I had noticed my performance had improved after the first 1000 miles or so ... then it started to drop off around 8 or 9... Well I just rolled over to 12k and replaced the air filter ... GUESS WHAT I FOUND? LEAVES AND BUGS N CRAP IN THERE!
I put the new one, went up a hill where the engine used to bog down a bit ... and definitely a noticeable improvement ...
The drive by wire does take a little getting used to on the auto (comparing with my previous Jeep, a 97 Cherokee) but I think mine is more responsive. Replace the air filter every 6-8k for you stock air box people. I might switch to a CAI someday ... but $16 for a cone filter vs $250+ for a CAI kit ... I think I'll just sick to the cone filters for a while ...

un-responsive
I found the problem in the programing of the ecm. You could try a Jet chip, I have one ordered. I also have a K&N filter element, helped a little. You could change the exhaust but that would be loud. But when it is all said and done, its heavy and tall, and square. Sort of like pushing a brick through the air with 2 ridged axels. Just like a big truck.
