Why do 2014 JKUR?
#31
My 2014 JKUR has 4.10's and no remote start, manual tran. After hearing about everyone's struggles finding exactly what they wanted, I feel blessed to have such a great dealer in my town. They normally have 40-50 wranglers in stock to choose from, even ones for 50k+ decked out with AEV stuff. I was fortunate enough to walk right onto the lot and get exactly what I wanted.

It took me forever to track mine down with 4.10's. The hardest part was trying to find one without the painted top and fenders. I was a day away from ordering one, and this luckily popped up.
Don't quote me...but I think the remote start option includes 4.10's. It was a $495 option.

Just to update. I ended up getting the 3.73 as it had everything I was looking for in it. Plus as others have said I will be changing gears in the future when I go to 35s. The JKUR is a little over a week old and I love it! Came from a dodge diesel. Anyhow thanks for all the input. TJ

I'll check my tachometer the next time I am running at 70 MPH. I confirmed my 4.10 gearing from my invoice.
I had a few requirements on this JK purchase. My last JK was a 2009 2-door Sport (mostly basic of the base model, manual trans, soft top only, but it did have 17" BFG wheels and 3.73 gearing). It was time to move up to a 4-door and I decided I wanted a Rubicon, automatic transmission, Pentastar engine and a hard top. I began by looking at used Rubis but then found the "new" 2014 I bought (I found the invoice on a dealer's website. The Jeep wasn't even there yet, it was still in transit. I purchased it sight unseen the Friday night of Labor Day weekend.) The rest of the pieces fell into place around the price.

Not the case anymore because I just built another online lol don't know what I was smoking to think otherwise? But now it's only letting me pick 4.10's and doesn't offer 3.73's, even with the auto...

The reason Jeep went to 3:73's was 100% due to the new CAFE fuel mileage standards that the Federal government has put in place to crack down on vehicles fuel economies. Every manufacturer will be required to meet more stringent standards and to do this, Jeep put 3:73's standard on automatics to raise the mpg ratings. 6 speeds still come standard with 4:10's.
If you are wanting to do 35's or 37's, you will more than likely really want 4:10's. I know that through Jeep you can get the 4:10's with factory warranty for $295, while aftermarket you will pay $1,500-$2,000. 3:73's will not allow you to hit hills on the interstate and pull them quite as good as 4:10's once you do larger tires. 3:73's will usually allow for better mileage.
Thanks,
King Con
