Default Why do 2014 JKUR?

Why do all the rubi's on dealer lots have 3.73. Trying to get into one but I want 4.10's. This is getting frustrating.

Generally, JKU's have become a family/soccer mom thing with Jeep enthusiasts representing a smaller and smaller market in the Unlimited trim. 4.10 is not a highly sought after option, those who do want it specifically usually order them specifically. Dealers appeal to the general market for example, we have 10 Unlimited Saharas in stock and only 1 Unlimited Rubi. The oldest Sahara we have is 29 days old, the Rubi is 72 days old. By contrast, customer orders in unlimited are approximately, 15% Sport, 45% Rubi and 30% Sahara.

This is how I explain it, i'm in Canada and this is only my example. But if I were to guess, this is likely the trend across borders. Also, time of year makes a big difference, enthusiasts population tend to be stronger at the start of the model year, we're approaching the end of 2014 now.

Thanks for the reply. It is starting to look like I will have to order.

When I go out on the trail I am with my two kids and all our gear. So unlimited is what I'm looking for.

I thought 4.10s were the only gears available on the Rubi?

Nope that would be incorrect. They come in 3.73 or 4.10. You cannot assume they are all 4.10.

Correct this changed in 2013. All manuals still have 4.10 standard, but autos come with 3.73's now and the 4.10 is an option.

I still have my jeep brochure from my 2012 model year in my desk at work. I'm pretty sure the rubi still had the choice of rears with the autos in 2012.

It started with the pentastar, because the addition of HP decreased the need for lower gearing among the masses.
