1. What were the factors that made this happen?
2. How long did it take
3. To make the process faster what would you have done different?

WOW I sound like a lawyer. (I AM NOT!!)

Im new with a 30k mile X. I have not heard of any of this until i started reading and now i see it. I hear the ticking at start up and when i checked my oil prior to my oil change last weekend it was below the dipstick and I freaked out and had the oil changed/added right away. I haven't noticed any leaking or blow by. Where is it going? Should I switch to 30W as well? even with winter coming?

thanks,

Keith

I wasn't trying to tell stories, just my experience. Once the warranty is up you don't exist. If you have consumption you need to address it before warranty is up. Be persistant. Call and email Chrysler. Get consumption tests done.

If you just have start up tick, you probably won't see any help. That's common on a lot of jk's and other cars.

If you have spark knock, find a location near the dealer where you can always produce spark knock and insist the mechanic ride with you so you can show him.

You will spend many hours and have to leave your jeep at the dealer many times. What is YOUR time worth to you?

Be prepared to battle and be fed lots of bs. Hope you have detailed records concerning your maintenance.

I agree that wasn't a story. All of us with the consumption issues need to hear detailed accounts of the steps to how these issues have or have not been resolved

My bad timing! That was not directed at you or anyone I just want to keep it productive. I think we have all spouted off enough and we need to focus on a solution. Just a post that had some bad timing.
