Whats this fluid?
Hey all, I live in the arctic where there are no dealers or even mechanics I can call on. I shipped my jeep here on a boat! I have noticed this red fluid about a month ago but it is starting to drip more.
I need to know:
1. What is it?
2. Where is it leaking from?
3. How can I fix this myself?
THANKS!
The leak is coming from a larger hose that is above...it is the one covered in some protective braided skin.
Pics taken from the top, easier to see:
WHAT IS THIS LINE FOR?
Braided line, one end goes here:
The other end goes here, the smaller one right next to the belt...:

the power steering is red also cause its is atf 4 also. u use atf 4 in the trans (auto) and power steering. checkthe power steering pump and lines too. prob is a some line leaking though. x2 on cleaning and run to find leak., it could also be the trans cooler in the radiator which would need a whole new radiator.

It's Tranny fluid...just read the hose. Clean hoses and run and search for leak...but wondering if you would need it in gear and park brake???
Is the power steering box sitting above the leak???
