What is this wire?
I need help identifying what this wire is and if it is necessary to replace. I was installing a new hood and it fell from the hood I was uninstalling and got into contact with the battery.
Thanks

Looks like a grounding strap to me. Depending on what it is grounding it could cause some strange issues not being connected.
We left one off when replacing the engine on a 94' Chevy pickup and until we found the disconnected ground, the gauges went crazy when you turned the key to accessory: the speedo and tac would climb to the max, and the odometer would roll like you were doing 120mph.
If you come up with issues in the coming days, then you will probably have to hunt a location to ground that strap to.
