Thanks for the linkage.
Wow. Lots of stuff to explore there. The things you miss when you head straight for the forums.
I also downloaded it from jeep.com. Thanks for the headsup. Easier than running outside to grab it from the glovebox.

Oh i agree, I was just poking fun at the somewhat useless manual. I also have the pdf version and i use it more than the paper one by far. The 2008 pdf manual is better IMO than the 07 one by a long shot. I downloaded both, but use the '08 one nearly exclusively.

You can go to Jeep.com then "For Owners" (on the upper right of the page)
then, in the middle of the page under "Servicing & Operating My Vehicle" there is a link for "Owner/Service Manuals"
Then just use the drop downs. It's free.

The links are Java scripted so i cant get you a direct one.

On the four door, I think that you'll still require a Torx bit for the two screws at the very front of the rear top section (under the removable panels above the driver and passenger).

Cooltech make the thumb screw replacemtns - I think they come in at about 17 bucks IIRC. They're about the easiest mod you're likely to make and worthwhile if you take your hardtop on and off with any frequency.

There was mention somewhere in an old thread that someone was concerned about these making the hardtop more stealable. I don't see that as a problem myself but YMMV

I don't think you'll see too many hardtop thefts, that things too heavy and awkward, easier just to steal the whole jeep
