Default What size lift

I'm new to the jeep world. Does anyone have any advice on what size lift I should go with to run 33" tires with no rub?

Depends what u want out of your lift. U have a ton of options. If u just want it for looks just do a leveling kit or a budget boost. U can actually fit 33's with no lift

Looks are a plus but I'm looking For somthing that I know will get me through that rough trail if needed.. I've looked at the bb and I'm not so sure about it.. I want the extra active coil action that you get with a full kit.. Didn't know 33" would fit without a lift though..

What kinds of trails are you trying to attempt? You'll be surprised how effective your stock coils and stock shocks are after disconnecting your swaybar on weekend runs. Don't doubt the capability of any jk stock or not! They are truly amazing, made to take a huge beating) In fact IMHO unless your trying to go to MOAB or the Rockies (dirty trails) anytime soon, i wouldn't even suggest spending the money, just use the extra cash for some beefy 33s or cut your fenders and get 35s. (Unless under all those other reasons your actual motivation is (looks) which then I'll just suggest getting a leveling kit/BB (which is more affordable and still gives you the looks+extra belly room) IMO.

IF you are looking for a true increase in off road perfromance I would get bigger then 33" tires. 35's with a 2" lift or some flat fenders would take you a long way.

A 33" Will fit fine with on lift, I was running 35's for a bit with a 2" spacer lift and no rubbing. From what it sounds like you should go with 35's, you will proboly regret it if you don't. I have the 2.5 Rock crawler installed now and can't say enough good about it so far, quality stuff from what I can see and everyone seems to feel the same way, also they have great customer service, which I feel like is getting harder and harder to find these days. If you do want to do a small lift I can sell you my 2" RE spacer lift with my Rubi shocks and shock extenders shipped to you for 250.

youd also be suprised what can hang up a 4 door rubi...i also dont agree there made to take a huge beating...

Default 33's - no lift needed.

You can fit 33's w/o rubbing - even more easily if you trim your fenders or install some flat fenders. There's an excellent sticky by TheDirtman https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/modi...-lifts-288269/ - it's on the Modified Tech page (very top, you can't miss it) Excellent advice!

I too thought I'd need a bit more lift for 33's, but after reading that and learning from others in the forum, not so much. Some of the insight and wisdom I've gained from others changed my mind on certain aspects of what I'm trying to do and will save me some ca$h in the long run as well (which of course I'll spend on other modifications)

Thanks for the advice.. There's so many options on what you can do I'm just trying to figure out where to start.. I think for now I'll save the money on the lift and just get tires and go from there. Thanks y'all!

Dude if your getting stuck it probably isn't a lift issue. It's probably the driver trying to do too much behind the wheel. #poordriverinstinct. It's easy to blame it on the lift when you don't know how to wheel cleverly.

For example, I'm pretty sure even with a 10" lift, a jk won't cross the Atlantic!! Sure you'll be good for the first 10 yards of beach shore and then get stuck like a dumba%. So my point, like I tried to advice before is, Get a lift that suits your needs. The OP wants to fit 33s so in reality he doesn't "need" a lift which is what I was advising. Thanks for your input I'm sure it was completely inspiring to everyone who drives a hummer and doubts the capability of a wrangler.

And a jeep doesn't take a beating? Lol dude go drive a Prius and I'll personally show you what a jeep can do. (As one of our forum member clearly showed) (didn't think I would be using his accident to show a point but I'm sure most of us disagree on your claim of weakly constructed jeeps). They may be a lot of things but a jk is a WALL compared to lots of cars.
