Default What Oil and Oil filters do you use??????

Well my jeep is in getting new gears and im going to be using royal purple diff fluid and after reading some things about royal purples other products I was thinking about using their oil and trans fluid in my jeep and pathfinder.

Currently I work at a small town sunoco garage once a month so I do my own oil changes there. I use sunoco 5w30 oil and a napa oil filter.

So I wanna know what you other jeepers are running in your rigs to see if its worth using the royal purple and a better oil filter.

I've been using K&N oil filters for years on all my vehicles with no issues.

I use Mobil1 5w20 and either Wix or Purolator filters. No issues here.

Motorcraft 5w20 Full Synthetic Oil with a Mopar Filter. Trying a Motorcraft and FRAM filters resulted in a engine knock/tap and a oil light randomly popping up on cold starts.

Switched to Royal Purple 75w90 for the diffy fluid . Proably go with Royal Purple when I get ready to change the tranny fluid

Napa synthetic & Wix filter here. So far so good. I compared the OEM filter I took off with the Wix & the baseplate was identical.

same, like some one else on the thread said, the extra 3-4 dollars for peace mind....

although, i wonder how much of a difference it makes to have a full synthetic and having some of those 99% synthetics that are a third of the cost

I wasnt having much luck with Mobil 1 5w20 synthetic oil, 4000 - 4500 kilometres and the change oil light would come on and yes the oil needed to be changed, didnt have this problem with the dino juice the dealership used. I have heard rumblings on here and on the other websites that Mobil 1 synthetic isnt true synthetic and its derived from what they call "crack stock" or bottom of the barrel oil, I have no proof of that and by no means am I bashing Mobil 1 or anyone who uses it. Decided to go with Pennzoil Platinum based on the advice of several mechanic friends, still using Napa Gold filters.
