Default for naplesrubicon

you were asking how far the aev skidplate goes back,I was just checking install instructions(came with aev bumper I just purchased)put it this way it goes back far enough that can interfere with draglink adj.if not correctly positioned.will provide ample protection for sway bar disco motor.I'm probably gonna order up sonna as visa recovers, there stuff is top notch(you were commenting on the A.E.V. skidplate right not the skid row one that looks more effective for advertising than actual protection right?

I just ripped mine out, it looked terrible. As far as the mileage goes, it was pathetic before I removed it. And as far as the hood lift, I just took the hood spring out awhile ago. No hood lift.

I bought the Skid row and after I saw how much protection it offered, I re-gretted getting it. It's an $80 front redneck license plate. But I put it on anyway verses sending it back. It's thicker than the front stock bumper anyways.

The plastic piece is an air dam and according to Jeep it creates a low pressure area which aids in cooling. I suspect it also offers some slight aerodynamic advantage, though I haven't seen any actual empirical data as to how much. IMO, it also serves to keep water out of the engine bay.

gas mileage will go down slightly as stated before, but not like it was great anyway. mine got ripped off partially on a trail and i went ahead and removed it when i installed tow hooks. the skid row rolling advertisement is really only a cosmetic cover for the metal bar that hangs just below the bumper.

basically, it's not worth the time to take it off unless it gets torn off on the trail, in which case it's not worth the time to replace it. happy jeepin'
