Default What makes a rubicon wheel so good

Getting ready to buy some 17x9 ProComp wheels and just found a set of Rubicon 17's ob craigslist for $200. Should i go with the rubicons? what makes them better than the stock sahara 18's that i already have?

Nothing. Except 17 is a much more popular tire size than 18, so you have more options.

17" rims are popular than 18's basically for tire prices and they provide more tire sidewall for rock crawling and wheeling thus less rock rash on the rims. 18's are great for pavement give you better handling on corners.

Would the rubicon wheels be a better investment then the procomps? Wouldn't I need spacers with the rubicons?

Price out the same size tire on both 17" and 18" wheels and you'll understand. The majority of 18" tires out there have an "E" load rating, which makes them considerably more expensive.

Run the pro comps. You will need spacers with the rubi wheels. No point in buying them unless your jeep came with them and you want to run them with spacers.

What size tires? The rubi rims have a stock 6.25" backspace (same as you current stock rims), so you may need to run wheel spacers with them. Personally, I would go with new rims in a 4.50 or so backspace.

Pro comps would be wider and have a better offset.

The rubicon rim also has a better finish then the Moab rim...rubi is shinier
