Crappy picture, but I got 11 MPG ON THE FREEWAY coming back from Arizona. It was windy and the crappy drivetrain couldn't keep up, so I was running in 2nd for miles. I never once went into overdrive because that gear only works downhill with a tailwind. By the way, I am at stock height with a rack and heavy bumpers on 32" tires.

Windy here too, I was running at 3k rpms when im usually at 2k. Plus yesterday it was 80 degrees, drove around all day w/ top and doors off, then on 20 mile drive home it was 40 and windy. Sucked.

I made an hour and a half drive from a friends this weekend and it was extremely windy and I usually burn about a quarter tank on the way back. Burned a half a tank this trip, thanks to the wind and trying to keep the jeep up to speed.....

I have to deal with the wind all the time and it's ridiculous how the Jeep handles, especially in a head wind. My poor little accelerator goes all the way to the floor and it's still difficult.

Regearing helps immensely. I drove in what must have been 30-35 MPH head winds all yesterday morning (tail winds on the return trip). My six speed, 35s and 4.88s had no problem keeping me at 70-75 MPH on the turnpike. Totally unlike what it was when I had 33s and 4.10s just a few months ago. And I drive a brick with gee-gaws ...
