Is it threaded? Isnt that the oil filter adapter. That machined face looks way too nice to be engine mount only.

The big hole is flat, no thread. Starting to think that maybe its used in another application. When i took the engine out the surface was all rusty.
And the engine mount cover it up pretty good so i cant see how anything can fit there. However the channel behind the hole seem to go aginst the timing cover.

Well that looks like you don't have to worry. I used to have a 3.8 in mine, but changed it, and could not remember where the filter screwed on.

Yes i have managed to find some other examples where this hole was left open to. Or did you mean not to worry about not remebering stuff?

Btw, do you know the size of the plug above the hole? Been looking at 1/4 and 3/8 hex but when i measure it seems to be somewhere in between. No sense in that.

The top hole is feed from the oil pump and does require a 3/8" npt. lower hole is left open, unused with the jeep front cover.
