Is there a convenient way of determining what gears have been installed in my Jeep?

I am the second owner of a 2007 JK 2DR X 6 spd and I do not know if the previous owner left the stock gears or made a change. I attempted to look in the area of the differential cover but could not locate the gearing info.

I plan on lifting to accommodate 33" or 35" tires. I have read many threads on whether or not re-gearing is needed when installing larger/heavier tires and wheels and I want to know if my gears will be suitable.

Usually the stock gears in the 07 2dr X 6spd is 3.21..

email jeep with your VIN number,,,,ask for the build sheet,,,

if it came with the TOW package its 4:10 if not its 3:21

If you do have 3.21s you will want to get different gears for 35's. 33's should be marginal, I have 32in M/Ts with 3.21s and it's not bad.

i thought tow pgk gave u 3.73s and his question was not the stock gears but if the previous owner changed them correct?

In 2007, the tow package, rear locker package or automatic transmission package would give you 4.10s on X's or Saharas.

Pure curiosity, EF....does Jeep have the same packages for Canadian orders as it does for U.S.? I ask because I know places like Australia and UK have different options.....

what about 09s do i get 4.10s or 3.73s on a x
