What do you think? Manual Transmission Metal
I just changed my manual transmission fluid today with the Penzoil Synchomesh (meets Chrysler spec MS-whatever it is). I think it drained a little less than 2 qts, but it's hard to tell when you drain it into a pan that has other gear fluid in it already. The stuff that came out was your standard, off-brown color gear fluid. It took in just under 2 qts...best guess about 1.8-1.9 qts.
I was expecting some metal on the magnet-drain plug, but am not sure about the amount below. It's a 2010 Rubicon with just over 31000 miles on it (yes it's a daily driver). I drive it off-roading once every 3 weeks in the Rockies. It has never been "submerged" in more than just a few inches of water. & the only towing done was pulling a couple SUVs (and a Grand Cherokee) from icy ditches in the mountains.
Thoughts on the amount of metal from the drain plug (no chunks, just those fibers)?

That's pretty much exactly what mine looked like when I changed my tranny fluid this past Sunday. As long as there's no chunks in it, it doesn't seem to be anything to worry about.
