Probably won't be able to get a pic. There is only ehough room to get your hand in there to reach the link.
Robar.... if you'll look at your diagram, directly above your arrow there's a small white dot on the end of the linkage. That is the socket that snaps to the t-case lever. The lever in question is not the shifter, but the lever that comes out of the t-case.
I don't want a pissin match, so I'm only gonna say this once..........If it's not a grocery getter how come I never even lock the hubs in on my stock 96 f-150 on the same trail........since it has a 6-speed trans,why isn't 1st gear a granny gear.........why are my skid plates beat all to h#ll when my stock f-150 has never needed them.......why doesn't it have lock-out hubs so I can have a limited slip or locker in the front diff and why o why is the oil pan so freakin exposed?
I really like my Jk, I'm not bashin it...just facts. It takes alot of upgrades and money to get this thing to where my other 4x4's were from the factory.
The only reason I bought is because my son started driving and I gave him my truck. Jeep was the only 4x4 in my budget that has a live front axle and manual t-case.
By the way my Jk is a 4-door Unlimited X with none of the luxuries and 4.10 limited slip rear...33in mudders,rock sliders and steel front bumper.
Needs---4in lift and 35's and lower gears. If 1st gear was granny I we wouldn't have to regear.
Anyway, I hope someone comes up with a stronger, dependable t-case connection. In the meantime I'm gonna work on one myself. If I find a solution I'll let ya'll know.

Its under warranty take it to dealer.

The end of the rod in the first pic connects to the lever in the second pic.

If you really feel your F-150 is so much better, and the JK is a "glorified grocery getter", either get the groceries with it or trade it in.

He didn't "feel" it was better, he said what parts of it were better and if you are happy with what you got and the way it came then great, Jeep has another fully satisfied owner.

Yes Robar, that's the one. #12 on the second diagram. That's pretty much the actual size of it too.
Do you know of any after market upgrades for that?

No. I pulled that pic out of the JK parts catalog. The only way I would think to upgrade it is to pull it out and have a metal piece machined.

I'm going to look at replacing the entire linkage with something that shouldn't ever fail. I'm thinking maybe some all-thread thru- bolted on the ends to the lever. The all-thread will probably need an adaptor somewhere for some adjustability. I'll look at it better tomorrow to see if that would work.

What tha--who tha---why in the h#ll would anyone use such a Mickey Mouse set-up? Who in their right mind would OK this? My brand new Jeep is a glorified grocery getter after all!
I put the linkage back on without a problem, but it felt like it could pop off again at any moment so I had to leave it in 4lo the rest of the day til i got back to gravel.
Folks ---this is a serious design problem that will always cause distrust. From now on I will have to put mt Jeep in 4lo anytime I'm off road. What if I had tried that in the river--one that I am very familiar with---and that had happened?
Or what if that mud hole that's been there forever gets wallowed out the night before and I have to do this?
This piece of sh#t design is definetly th WEAKEST LINK. It needs to be

I think this is what happed with a guy JK that we were wheeling with... he could move 4wd stick all over the place like it wasn't attached at all.
