Default Water Pump Issue 2013 JKU

At 1150 miles in our first ever Jeep JK Unlimited Sport. Started to get a whirring noise from under the hood, sounded like it was coming from the area of the A/C compressor. Definitely did not sound like the belt. Took it to the dealer; they said it was the water pump making the noise. Also said they would have to expedite shipping on one of the few parts they found available. Apparently, the water pumps are going to back order. Possible trend? Sounds like the making of a recall to me. One more thing: I complained of the poor headlights, and the tech said " they always come aimed low from the factory, we will adjust them". I'll post an update about that when I get it back.

Yup, there's a few '12 owners that had there's replaced. Mine is making that nose as well, but I need it to be more consistent. The last time I took it into the dealer, they couldn't duplicate the squeak

Is that the dreaded owl sound or different? There are a few posts on here about the "owl" sound that is specific to automatics...it's a bad valve in the tranny cooler. One nice gent posted up the star report so that it could be used for reference.

Had the same problem at 6k miles. It was the water pump. Tech told me all the 2013's are having this problem. I was told the part was on back order and it would take a month to get one. Part came in a few days later and problem is fixed. No annoying noise for at least the last 2k miles.

Just got mine back. They put in a new water pump the same day. Had just under 6000 miles on it.
