Put some Dow Corning 111 on that area and your leaks will go away. This stuff will increase contact surface area as well as repel water. Your leaks will go away. This is what I did and all leaks are gone.

Here are a few photos of the rust that has developed. . .

I realize that a little might get in during the opening and closing but this rust seems excessive. You can clearly see the while streaks down the sub box from the water streaming down.

Yep, that's the spot Im talking about. Now I know my problem isn't unique to my Jeep. I'm on my second dealer installed gasket and it's still leaking (although it did stop for about a month).
Thanks for keeping this thread going. Where do you think the leak is coming from?

Rust comes with the territory when you own a jeep. Clean it up, bedline or por 15. Take care of it before it gets too bad. I bought a 77 CJ-5 in 1983, 7 yrs old, floor board, underbody, frame, all had spots completely rusted through. One thing to do is pull the carpet. Cover with something else. Your seat frame mounts are rusting, sand and coat. When it warms up here, I'm herculining my tub.

I really do not know, but the carpet under the sub box and the bolt there are constantly soaked (if it is raining). I will be looking at the weather seals and maybe even the hardtop seams.

My old 08 Sahara did not have this leak so I am looking to solve the leak rather than continue to treat rust.

I have an appointment booked for Jan 8th to look at it. Apparently that is the earliest I could get in.

I love my Jeep, but I am so sick and tired of this.

I just had my JK into the deal to fix some hard top leaks (over the radio, above the rearview mirror and above each exit handle at the "A" pillar. After I picked it up, I went for a car wash and it´s just raining in. It's fricking worse than when I dropped it off!

Do these idiots even care and check their work?

I have the same problem....If you look @ the inside top edges @ the corners on the tailgate you will see a worn away foam strip. It looks like it is an 1/8" thick by 1/2" wide strip. Both of mine, left and right sides have worn away so I changed them and it seems to be working. It is something that needs to be changed often, as it wears out. Where can I get the Dow Corning 111 stuff?
