Default Unlimited Sport with Rubicon Wheels. Spacers?

I have a 2012 Sport unlimted and I want to put rubicon wheels and tires on it. Do I need spacers for this to work? Will they rub if I dont put spacers on them?
Is this the only reason for the spacers?

Thanks Guys

No spacers needed. Just bolt them on.

Be more specific. Does your JKU have the 17 aluminum wheels or steel? If aluminum I think the rubi ones are the same size tires but just look way cooler. If steel, the rubi tires will be bigger and you may want to consider a recal of the speedo.

I replaced my 17" sport wheels/tires and am so glad I did. The Goodrich tires are nice and aggressive looking without much increase in road noise. The tpms sensors worked fine without me needing to do anything.

SO much would it make my speedo off? Or would it?

I've got a Sport. It came with 255/75/17 tires... the same size as the Rubicon. The Rubicon's are BFG Mud Terrains, though.

like they said above, if it comes with the 16s it will through your speedo of by about 10 mph... I did the same to my sport and just bought a speedo calibrator for 120 bucks and fixed it...
