Default Transmission pan gasket

What's the best place to order a new gasket and transmission pan for my jk? Through the dealership or somewhere online?

Any parts store for RTV to seal the pan.

Any of the forum MOPAR parts vendors for the pan, part # 52852912AC

Unfortunately, the pans are almost 4X the price they were a few years ago.

Be aware of the note in the picture.

I don't think that is necessary. I filled mine after the time it took to install the pan bolts and get the Jeep off the jack stands.

Have you started the task yet? The three pan bolts over the exhaust cross-over will be a little difficult to remove, and a lot more difficult to get back in.

Here is how I made their installation much easier:

These allen head bolts, and the rounded-end allen wrench make it so you don't have to have a straight shot at the bolts when installing them.

This mod will make the next transmission service a lot less messy:

Did you just drill an tap a drain bolt in there or did you make a cut out with the dip in the pan an weld that in?

I bought a drain plug and bung from Advance Auto. Then drilled a hole in the pan and welded the bung.
I made a little steel tab for safety wire and welded it next to the drain plug.

I did not use RTV. I used a petroleum-based grease To seal the gasket. I did this because a transmission rebuilding expert advised me to do that rather than RTV. So far I have no leaks but it's only been a few weeks.

Did he say why not use RTV?
A thin bead has worked fine on mine.
