I would like to know this also...
I even tried a suction cup to try and pull the cap off, as it is rattling like crazy.
I can seem to get one side lifted up a little (not enough to pry it out), and is about as far as I can get it.
Should I just push it down and dab some superglue on the edges with a needle like someone else said?

after closer inspection, i think that it may be right under the cap that mine is rattling. That is why when I hold the cap it doesn't stop. However, I think that now I have an even bigger question. Wouldn't it suggest an even bigger problem if our tranny creates that much shake that it would make the top of the stick rattle? I have never seen another car, or Jeep, that has a tranny that rattles this bad?? Mine never rattles on deceleration, but if I am acceleration or even just holding the RPM's steady (and usually in lower gears), it starts going like crazy.

I will be making my own Motor and Tranny mounts shortly, I will post when I'm finished up.
This problem should never have happened in a vehicle built for hard core use, they built it as a car.
Serious dumbasses at Chrysler.
After 40 years of being number three, you'd think theyd get the message by now!
And I cant even find an aftermarket source for Motor Mounts, if mine work out, I have found my new niche.
Out.

MIne does this too. I was planning on having the dealer look at it. I see on this forum or another that someone fixed it by wedging a piece of foam under the shift boot but I haven't tried that yet.
