I bought mine at the same time I ordered the hitch. You will need to remove the drivers side rear brake light to attach it and run the connector to the hitch.

Yes, I got the wiring from etrailers when I ordered the hitch. Take 4 screws out of the driver side rear light assembly, the plug that comes on the harness accepts the factory plug. Run the wires through the obvious hole you will see and wire tie it out of the way. I going to get some of the black wire loom stuff and wrap the wiring to make a cleaner looking install, but al in all, very easy. The harness was an extra $25.

If you purchase the Mopar wiring kit, it has the loom on already, and the push pins for pre-drilled holes in the frame to attach it. I would suggest buying the Mopar hitch and wires to anyone. Nice kit.

I installed mine last week, same problem, the passenger side bolt on the end would not go in, I took them all out and started it first and then put in the rest, it was still harder but it finally went. Now I need my harness.

Thanks for the advice. Just muscled it in. No muffler removal etc. Now I just need to wire it up for the trailer.

I went here for plug and play, no wire splicing.

Did you have to have the Jeep reprogrammed or flashed? I wouldn't think you would, but this Ebay seller says it's needed.

Really bad price too! Jeeps r us has a much better price.

Thanks to the previous poster that mentioned that site.

Great forum here by the way. I've learned a ton lurking in here.

Been towing with mine for a few weeks now. No flash required (at least for 4-Pin operation). Rumor is that the "flash" is just so big brother (DC) will know that you are towing and deny warranty claims accordingly. Be advised however, that you do need to change the fluid in the rear diff. to 90W according to the owner's manual.

BTW.......welcome to the forum.

I hadn't noticed the 90w requirement till you pointed it out and I don't think I'll get that flash!

Thanks for the info Skibum

Never reflashed mine. Works fine, my guess is 7 wire hookup for trailer brakes would need it.
