Default Traction Control Light/Check Engine Light

Hey everybody! I am the proud new owner of a 2008 2 door X and I just have a few questions. My check engine light has been coming on recently, I brought it to the dealer and they say it's for the cam sensor, that's getting fixed on Thursday. However, every night the traction control light (swerving car)comes on, and stays solid. When this happens the Jeep will seem to cut power at about 3000 RPM until the RPMs drop down to 2000. Is this part of the cam sensor problem? The light doesn't come on until night time, could it have to do with the temperature? I have tried searching, but haven't found an answer for this yet. I love the Jeep so far, and even these two problems aren't swaying that. Thanks everyone for the input.

Congrats on the new Jeep!

I have an ’08 and had a bad Cam Position Sensor too. Before I got it replaced I got the Check Engine light and the ESP/TCS Indicator Light would come on and off. After they replaced the sensor I haven’t had any issues with the lights/sensors.

Funny - if that's the only problem we have then we'll be doing great.
