Are you confusing the ESP traction control with the LSD? As for the ESP, yes you can shut it off in 4Hi, just follow the directions in the manual. I thought they eliminated the LSD in the Rubicon? Do you have a Rubicon?

The ESP automatically disengages in 4LO (except the BLD function), but this wouldn't matter if you had a Rubi with lockers.

If you have LSD with traction control you do not have a locker. In this case the Limited Slip differential with Traction Control is always active (you can not disable it) and you should not want to turn it off. If the light comes on it means that it went active to keep wheel spin down, or it is doing it's job. Why someone would want to turn it off is beside me, or they just don't understand what it actually is.

I have a locked front with the LSD and TC in the rear and go any place fully locked jeeps can go with no issues, so leave it alone.

Read your owner's manual...It will tell you all about it.

The ESP does disable automatically in 4LOW (except for the BLD function). As for why you'd want to disable it in 4HI, if you're in sand and looking for more speed you would want it off so it doesn't bog the Jeep down. But yes, the LSD is an always on function. There are guys actually wiring in a switch to make ESP completely off, it does eliminate your ABS though.

The LSD works great! Off road it has worked very well and Saturday i had it work great on road. Trying to cross 3 lanes from one shopping center to the next (mall crawling at its best) and it was raining, i was on a bit of an incline and hit the gas a little too hard. Spun the 35" tires, LSD kicks in and off I go. Worked much better than the previous vehicles Ive owned with a LSD where it never worked and i would just spin
