I dont have 3.21's I just have the stock unlimited or is this the stock ratio? So I assume towing with my 35's are out of the question? I have the stocks wheels and tire but I would also have to carry these 35's in that trailer and its not very big to start with. It would be easier to put the stock wheels in the trailer not because of gas mileage but for storage room.

Dont know what year your jeep is but I know on my 09, its got the tralier tow package and has 3.73 gearing with auto.
IMHO, anything less than that might be asking for trouble.

Where can I get the tranny cooler someone else also suggested this.
Online. Any auto parts store. Most repair shops. 4x4 shops. Uhaul sells and installs them. Pretty much anywhere.

Here is a write-up on a popular B&M cooler.
https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...ghlight=cooler

I have stock Unlimited gears
You could have 3.21's, 3.73's or 4.10's. All are available stock gear ratio's, depending...
Rubicon? You have 4.10's.
Non-Rubicon with tow package? You probably have 3.73's.

I have the stocks wheels and tire but I would also have to carry these 35's in that trailer
This would be my suggestion, as it will not only cause the least strain on your drivetrain, but will give much better performance when towing a heavy load on the stock gears.

Do you get those Aamco commercials out your way? The ones that tell you that the vast majority of transmission failures are caused by heat? Your JK with stock gears, big tires, a heavy load and no transmission cooler is the poster child for that commercial...

So,
OD off. Stock tires. Tranny Cooler.

Or at least,
Take some extra breaks from for a few or while you let it all cool back down so your transmission doesn't .

First thing, you need to know what gear ratio you have.

Assuming you have a 4 door:
3.21 and your limit is 1000 lbs.
3.73 or 4.10 and your limit is 3500 lbs.
Both limits are with stock tires.

There are a few ways you can get your ratio.
Window sticker
Build sheet from dealer
Build sheet from Jeep.com

If you bought your Jeep used, you don't know what you have.

If you want to know for sure, and remove all doubt, do this:

Chock the front tires, fore and aft.
Put the transmission in neutral.
Emergency brake off.
Jack the left rear tire off the ground.
Put a jack stand under the frame, just in case the jack fails (had to add this).
Put an index mark on the aft end of the drive shaft, visible from the left rear wheel.
Put an index mark on the left rear tire at the 6 o'clock position.
Rotate the left rear tire 2 complete revolutions while counting how many times the index mark on the drive shaft passes its original position.
That number will be your axle ratio.
Remove jackstand and lower jack.
Put transmission in gear or Park, and/or apply emergency brake.
Remove chocks.
If you have limited slip, jack up both rear wheels and rotate one revolution, making sure both tires rotate equally.

If the driveshaft rotated almost 3 1/4 turns, you have 3.21
If the driveshaft rotated almost 3 3/4 turns, you have 3.73
If the driveshaft rotated a little over 4 turns, you have 4.10

I'd stick your stockers on anyways, no need to put extra mileage on some M/Ts that are three times the price no to mention it will probably be a smoother ride haha and your mileage will be better regardless of what gears you have. sounds like the best way to save some extra money

IF you want a build sheet for your Jeep, go here.

Alright so I have the Tranny cooler on the way. Looks like I'll be putting the stockers on anyway. Do I need an towing extention thing since I just put on the RC 3.25" Lift? Also I'll be driving to Nashville to see my g/f's fam for the night then I'm headed to Evansville IN the next day. After a day or so we are gonna do the str8 drive from Evansville to Colorado so that will be most of my concern on my way from Evansville.
Thanks for all your help guys! I'm trying to figure out what gears I have now. I just want to keep my tranny healthy and I know this move is most likely going to be tough on my vehicle.

Yes, you'll want a drop hitch to keep the trailer level instead of nose up.

Here is a recent thread on drop hitches:
https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-talk-26/what-size-hitch-drop-105254/

Check SaginawMikes post for some measurement info. Or just run over to your local uhaul and back up to a trailer.

I never thought of that point.
Looking in the '07, '08, '09 owner's manuals, It seems to be true!
