Tire pressure monitoring system

It probably does....every time you start up. I don't know if you can "turn it off", but you could have the sensors calibrated to the new wheels/tire pressure so the annoying DINGING will stop.

Yes the light stays on. I want it turned off if it can be done. Talked to dealership and they are going to try and flash computer to turn it off. The TPMS is not 4 me.After some long cold days the light comes back on even with factory tires and wheels due to COLD weather and you will have to put air in them to get light to go out, and no im not goin to put sensors in my new wheels they cost about 100 at the dealership a piece.

I need help. I'm trying to find out more about the sensors. I bought an 08 X with the S package. The factory 17 aluminum wheels have 255/75R17 wrangler tires on them. I bought a set of takeoff from an 08 Rubicon and my low pressure light is on. How do I calibrat them? Also the origional valve stems were silver metal, the rubi rims have rubber stems. Am I missing a part, are the metal stems the sensors or are they inside the rim?

If you have rubber valve stems, you DO NOT have the sensors....that's why the light is coming on. It'd be nice if flashing the computer would "turn off" the TPMS...then I could justify buying some RUBI take-offs myself, cuz I wouldn't have to worry about the TPMS.

I will know today if dealership can flash computer and turn it off. As for the rubicon wheels if it has the sensors you will have to take it to the dealership for them to set the computer again for the sensitivity they told me all wheel sensors have differnt sensitivity levels.

most of the oem wheels i have seen on Ebay have had the tpsm taken out and the stem replaced with another.
Make sure you ask before you buy if the tpsm are included.
I want custom wheels but want to switch back to my OEM wheels/tires when I want.
I thnk I will buy sensors for my new wheels.. Discount Tire has them for 35 bucks each.
