Default Tip Start

Just learned what TS is, and that my jeep has it...after 2 years of ownership. Cool feature....it was so strenuous keeping that key engaged. Life just got easier.

Hey is something to note. If you are low on fuel and the light is on the tip start will start but shut off right away.

I believe it's used in conjunction with the remote start, if so equipped. Maybe possible to add the dearie later on as long as you have TS, but don't quote me. 😉

I found out about Tip Start when reading the features of my 2013 Jeep (after having it for a few months), never heard of it before then. Out of curiosity I checked the wife's 2012 Patriot, sure enough, no need to crank until it turns over. Now if someone would invent a foot massage while you drive .....

Could be, both my 2013 Wrangler and the wife's 2012 Patriot have remote start, and Tip Start.

The feature allows you to turn the key to the crank position then let it go right away while the starter continues to crank until the engine starts.

Without Tipstart, you would have to hold the key in the crank position until it starts then let the key go.

Think it's something that came with Daimler-Benz.
Every Mercedes has it....even the Smart car.
