Times that you would rely in 4x4
#22
This matter is easily resolved: if you plan on doing as little as even, let's say, 1% off-road, get 4x4. You won't get anywhere without it, just as all the CRVs, Tributes, Rav4s (God knows I hate them) of this world...
No offense to anyone who owns / loves them, but they are glorified grocery-getting cars.

Why Jeep would bastardize the thing and offer it in 4x2 is beyond me. And if you have to ask this question you should probably be shopping for an economical sedan.

Definately go 4X4, even if you are only on light trails, the extra ground clearance, plus the ability if you get stuck will be more than worth it. Also, you'd make us all look bad if you got stuck and a Hummer had to pull you out.

Well...
You could just get the 4X4 and leave it in 2wd all the time... Then when you do get stuck you can unstick yourself... I like to leave it in 2wd and see how far I can get, and it will do some amazing stuff (X 2 door) but then when things get dicey I'm glad I have all four wheels slinging mud

OK - let me state this as simply as possible... It's like your penis: You only use it a tiny % of the time each month, and sure, you could live without it if you HAD to, but aren't you glad you have it!?!?

Well, I have to say, this is by far the best response on this thread!
