Default Ticking Valves?

My jk has always had a quiet tick to it's idle, but over night it has started a loud tick that can be heard driving down the interstate. Mechanics say that it's valves,litters,and/or rockers... Please help it's almost embarrassing as much as it is worrisome.

Is the engine oil level normal? There have been issues with some percentage of 3.8 Wrangler motors using oil. If it is full on oil, and it is a ticking and not a deeper knocking sound, then as you mentioned they need to check out the valve train I would think.

Does your 08 still have a warranty? I would not run it long with that noise.

It's definitely at ticking not a knock, it's only during certain RPMS.
