Default ticking/pinging noise

I just got my 11 jk 3.8 4 months ago, I've noticed a ticking/ pining Sound under certain conditions. It happens around 2000 and up rpm under load while moving in drive, it gets louder when hot. It's not spark knock just replaced
the plugs, no loose heat shields I checked them. I'm thinking it could
be the flex plate. Has anyone had this issue?? Thanks for the help.

You sure it's not spark knock? Put a tank of 93 octane and see if it goes away. If it does, it's spark knock. Had that for years in a Ford Explorer. Nothing made the knock go away unless I ran 93 octane.

I think its just the envelope they run these newer engines at.. my 3.8's never pinged..

my 3.6 Pentastar almost always ping off and on.. I hear it alot with the doors off.. it doesnt last long as the computer catches it but nevertheless regardless of the fuel I put in it does.. and its done it since I have had the jeep.. i think I even opened a thread about it 2 years ago when I got the jeep...
