Default Terrable fuel consumption

Hi

Is anyone else getting bad fuel consumpton. When I first got the car two weeks ago I was averaging 14.8-15.2 L/100Km and now a week later the computer is telling me I am getting an average of 18.0-18.2 L/100km.

Now I know the Jeep is heavy etc, and my driving habits haven't really changed all that much but wow. My old Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2 litre is getting 17.5 L/100km.

Any thoughts

The computer is typically wrong. Best to hand calculate the mileage. I typically get 380-410 miles per tank. This is in a 4dr Sahara with 32" BFG MT's.

Anyone with decent math skill want to break this down into miles per gallon? Or should we just keep speaking French? I DON"T UNDERSTAND FRENCH!

I used this site and came up with 18L/100KM equals 13.07MPG

Can anyone verify

Ouch - 13 MPG IS pretty terrible...

2 things:

1) Your engine will wear-in over time, and your fuel economy will improve (to a point).

2) Do not call a Jeep a "car" - doing so is a big "NO-NO" on this site (and in general).

It sounds about right to me. I'm getting 13mpg in the city and 20mpg on the highway. Once, just once, I got 403 miles to a tank of gas. I wish that would happen more often.

I would love to get 14. I only get 11 with 31's & 4.10's. 16 mpg on highway.
