Default tap trans pan ?

Any body every Drill and tap their transmission pan?
I'm thinking this would be a good idea.Cause taking the pan off with oil in it really bites the big one.

You would have to drill and install a plug adapter; either welded in, or one with a nut on the other inside.

When I installed a temp sender in the pan, I welded in a bung for the sender.
In this case, the sender removal functions as a drain for most of the fluid. It eases the removal of the pan. A new pan was only $8 from the dealer, so I did it ahead of time to have it ready to go.
