Tan Sahara
Today, driving down the road I passed an Army tan Wrangler, and though THAT IS AWESOME! (I'm a Veteran) and thought I wish they had that in 2012 when I bought my Wrangler!
I get home and do a quick search and found out they did but Only on the Sahara!? Wtf! If they would have had this for the regular models I would have bought that instead! This is the only color offered on limited models that I even like, yet even wish I had! Anyone else feel this way?

The color is called "Sahara tan". From what I know it was a very popular color and was only in production for 2011 and briefly into 2012.
That being said when I bought my 2011, it was between the tan or silver. I chose silver. Regret.

Yep, Sahara Tan is the color, you could get it on all the models during the brief time it was offered.

Sahara Tan
When I bought my 2012 Sahara JKU in May, my first choice in color was Sahara tan, second choice was white. When it showed up it was white with the explanation that the tan color was discontinued. I really like that color. I wonder why they only offered it for such a short time?

it is a great color and was very hard to find in a 12. I got mine in Sept 11 and it was already out of production. I got lucky and found it near by state.

I always thought it was a good color too.
I actually had a 2012 Rubicon JKU ordered and the dealer called me 2 weeks in and told me the color had been discontinued and my color had automatically switched to white so I told them to forget it. We did a search all over the east coast for one and found a total of 3 Rubicon's and 1 Sahara. Needless to say every dealer responded with a no on each Rubicon and yes on the Sahara. I didn't want the Sahara but I would be lying if I said I really didn't think long and hard about it.
In the end I bought a Flame Red JKU with color matched hard top and in turn traded it on a JKU COD edition which then was traded for my JK Gecko Rubicon. Finally something I was happy with until the money makers at Jeep decided to bring out a 10'th Anniversary Rubicon in Anvil (which is a very close match to the old TJ Gunmetal Blue that just happened to be one of my favorite Jeeps ever owned) which I placed my order for yesterday

Even rarer still, a Sahara Tan JK-8, that my dealership had last year. First JK-8 I'd ever seen in person, but they wanted $50,000 for it. It is cool every now and then seeing it around town!
