Default sway question

is the e-disco the electric sway bar disconnect? Is there a way to disconnect the sway bar on an x without the electric disconnect? How difficult?

Just by some disco's they arn't expensive at all! Teraflex and HKS have nice sets. I have EDisco and the Teraflex manual disco on at the same time.. (Teraflex ones came with my 3" lift kit)

Installing them is super easy! 4 bolts total!

Go here. It's an old thread on a do it yourself disconnect that's quick, easy and cheap. Try it first and if you think you like it, it may be all you need.

Quick disconnects make it about a minute or two operation (make certain you're on level ground, BTW).

If you don't even want to spend that money, then just crawl under the JK and remove the links that attach to the stock, unmodified sway bar. Swing the sway bar up out of the way and secure it where it won't do any harm. The nuts on the links are similar in size, but not identical--so rethread them onto their respective bolts so that you don't get them mixed up. Depending on your tools (IIRC, an 18-mm ratcheting box end will be perfect), maybe a five-ten minute procedure.

Here's one of the links you're removing; the stabilizer bar is coming in from the top of the image:

Don't forget to reconnect the sway bar if you go faster than 25 mph, because it is very dangerous!!!
