I wish I had the money and time to do a hemi but I don't. I might consider headers though, be an easy time to do it.

Well, looks like I will have an engine on the way next week. It will be coming from a fellow forum member who is doing a home Hemi swap

Hopefully, I have better luck with this new engine than the one my jeep came with. I plan on tearing mine apart to see if anyone can identify things that are wrong. Pretty bummed I only got 58K out of an engine before it needed significant work done.

When you tear it down, check to see if the cylinders are out of round (reasonably easy to do if you have a guage). There were batches of blocks in '07 & '08 that were incorrectly bored & honed and left the factory as ticking time bombs with the cylinders out of round (which will wear out the rings relatively quickly).

NO, NO, NO, NO !!!!! Your Basic Bumper to Bumper Warranty Expired at 3/36. You Still Have POWER TRAIN & EMISSION WARRANTIES> Check your Drivers Manual and it will tell you what type of POWER TRAIN warranty you have. Most of the were 7/70, but some were 6/60.

Well prove me wrong my manual says my 07 has a 3/36k powertrain. You have something that says different?

Do a search on pinging and spark knock, there are multiple threads on it. If you have it, make sure you take it to the dealer and have it documented. It's fairly common it seems.

Again, checked the manual. I see nothing about any power train warranty. Please fill me in on what I am missing?

You may have the lifetime warranty depending when you bought your Jeep

How do I know if I'm covered by the new Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty?
A1: You're covered if you're the first registered vehicle owner – retail or lease – in U.S., Puerto Rico and The Virgin Islands. This applies to 2009 model year vehicles. As well as 2006, 2007 and 2008 model year vehicles purchased on or after July 26, 2007.
