What I'm wondering is could i buy the old man emu 2" lift kit but only use the shocks from it while I have the smaller tires? Then when it's time to get new tires I'll buy bigger ones and then put on the rest of the lift kit. Would there be any reason not to do this since the Jeep has the stock bump stops to prevent overextension?
You also want to consider compression. Don't want the shocks to stop the upward force of the axle instead of the bump stops. You may be ok with the OME's, but I would call to check.

I've got the stock X shocks and I actually think they're fine... I do 99% on road and 1% extreme stupidity off-road... but I haven't had any issues and ride quality is smooth.

Default Vote Edelbrock

Stock X shocks are lousy, so I replaced with Mopar Rubicon shocks which are almost as lousy. Added Edelbrock IAS shocks and now my wife will ride with me again. Should I put the X shocks back on????

I contacted http://northridge4x4.com and they responded by saying the OME lift kit shocks are a little longer than the stock shocks. So for now I won't be getting the lift kit but when I do, I'll definitely get it from them.

I just installed a set of the Monroe Reflex shock on my 07 Unlimited X.
They are much more comfortable on road, less harsh on the bumps and pot holes.
Off road, they are better because they allow the suspense to move more readily and the occupants don't get thrown around as much.

rockauto.com[/url] sells them CHEAP
