Default Stock tire pressure

This is my second JK, and I read yesterday for the first time the sticker located in the driver's door, and the tire pressure for the 4 tires is supposed to be 37 psi !!!!!!!! RIDICULOUS

Strangely, in my first JK it was 35 psi. Probably because of the stupid laws about environment...

IMHO, with stock tires, the max. pressure should be 32 psi. Pesonnaly, I have 28 psi and it's just perfect for me.

You can run them at whatever pressure you like. There's nothing wrong with 37, or 35 or 42 if you like. Some people run theirs at even lower. I've tested mine between 42 and 34 psi and found no functional difference between the various pressures.

I'm not too sure what is ridiculous about 37psi...

No. That would be the number on the tire itself. The pressures on the door plates are for normal driving. You still have the free-will and choice to drive your tire at whatever pressure you feel is best for your type of driving.

I run what ever is in the tires at the time. Obviously, you run your tires with what ever feels comfortable to you, within reason. Less pressure, better ride and less gas mileage; more pressure, more available and better gas mileage. That my 2 cents, anyway.

I don't see whats so crazy about that. Granted I'm running the puny 225/75R16 tires right now. My door pillar calls for 35psi all around, I have been running 36psi on the street (16psi offroad) and a 5-tire rotation for the 12k miles I've had it. It rides fine and I'm getting even wear on all the tires.......what more would you want?

Mine says 35 for my 17's, and that's what I run in them. Hey, I'm getting a smooth ride, and 19/22 City/Hwy Gas Mileage, so no complaints here! When I go off-road on the Beach, I'll drop them down to 15-20psi.

Best of Luck!

Cheers!

How can you run that low of pressure without the tire pressure light on your dash going on? Maybe its just me but that thing is annoying. It prevents you from dimming that one side of the instrument cluster which is blinding on high at night. If I drop my pressure below 34 it sets off the tire pressure light.
