Default Stock Skid Plates

I was under my JK today when I put my tow hooks on and I realized that the area under the oil pan and transmission is very open w/ no skid plates. My father's auto 4Dhas a tranny one but mine doesn't. I have the 2D w/ manual tranny. Shouldn't I have a skid plate under there? I mean my old liberty had the entire underneath covered, I'm surprised the wrangler doesn't.

I think he was reffering the the auto tranny pan, not the oil pan. We are all exposed equally in that area.

The way I see it, most vehicles will never take a shot at the oil pan. It's pretty close to inline with the axles.

That said, I think the rubi's should come with skid standard in this area, since the rocks are the most likely scenaro for hitting it.

I've already seen several photos of JK oil pans getting bashed, they do take hits.

And I'm curious why you think the Rubi should come with one if you don't think it will take a shot?

Rockhard has a line of skids out for the JK now too. Here is the oil/trans skid I just ordered:

After my first wheelin trip i had 2 dents in the oil pan of my Ruby and got the Skid Row skid plate for it and has worked flawlessly so far.
