Thanks for the insights. The LT tire really made it all make sense. Was tire knowledge impaired. Going to try to find a cheap set of Rubi take offs as a first step, ranch is to follow if that isn't for me. Can I keep the oem springs or should those be rubi too? Btw what does the Sahara run on?

There's a bunch of threads on factory springs, and their part numbers, etc. Some folks have done a lot of research that's worth searching for. If it was mine, and it was at the correct ride height, I'd just try the shocks.

As for shocks... I wanted to vote for Bilstein 4600's. I have them on my sport S with 18/60 springs and the only way to describe the ride/handling is: Cadillac. #jeepwave
